Thamthog Rinpoche

Ven. Thamthog Rinpoche was born in Lithang, eastern Tibet. At the age of six he was recognized and reconfirmed by H.H. the Dalai Lama and by Kyabge Trijyan Rinpoche as the reincarnation of the XII Thamthog, spiritual guide of three monasteries in Lithang. He began his studies at the monastery of Sera Jay in Tibet and he continued in exile, after 1959, at the Monastic University of Sera Jay in India. In 1982 he obtained the "Geshe Lharampa" degree in Buddhist studies.
Subsequently he entered the Gyume Tantric College to obtain a deeper knowledge of Tantra. He has received the transmission of normal and secret teachings from H.H. the Dalai Lama, his two tutors and from other authoritative Tibetan Masters. Since 1987 he has been living and teaching at the Ghe Pel Ling Institute and he guides the Kalachakra Centre in Milano - Italia.

Thamthog Rinpoche and Namkha Rinpoche have a deep connexion from past lifes. They both wish to work hand in hand for the benefit of western students as well as tibetan people. It was the first visit of Thamthog Rinpoche in Rigdzin Community center. Rinpoche gave an extensive teaching on saturday afternoon about the principal aspects of Dharma and a Vajrasattva empowerment on sunday. It was a great joy and honor to receive Rinpoche as we look forward to meet him again.
